Freudian Babbling

I can’t help believing that these things that come from the subconscious mind have a sort of truth to them. It may not be a scientific truth, but it’s psychological truth. ~ Brian Aldiss.

This poem is entitled Freudian Babbling for the simple reason that I wrote it during a subconscious writing experiment. The experiment is to completely distract yourself with something while letting your hand write freely on the page. In my case, I decided to watch an episode of Castle that I had missed earlier in the week. (Considering that Castle is one of my favorite TV series right now, it was the perfect distraction for me.) The theory behind this type of exercise is to avoid thinking about what you are writing; instead, you allow your subconscious mind to take over and, thus, revealing what thoughts are really going on inside your head.

I’ll have to admit, when I first read what I had written I was quite confused. As a matter of fact, I had to read it aloud to someone else and he told me what it meant. Let me know what you think about this one. I’d love to hear first-time reactions from others!
