Reunion | Authspot

Standard

I just got back from visiting my boyfriend’s oldest son graduate from Basic Training. This was the longest amount of time father and son have ever been separated from one another ~ ten weeks! Their only way of communication was via letters and the rare staticy phone call. I was so blessed to be a witness of this bittersweet reunion that I had to write up something to commemorate the moment. Hope you enjoy.

Poetry: By God’s Grace

Standard

But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.(1 Corinthians 15:10 KJV)

How shall we then act towards others knowing the blessing of grace God has extended towards us? Click here Imageto read my poetic response.

Health Benefits of Watermelon

Here’s a taste:

Watermelon

No, the only summer food

for me

is slice after slice

of healthy,

juicy,

sticky,

yummy watermelon.

A Poem for Father’s Day

Standard

My dad is a hard man to shop for so when Father’s Day rolls around every year, I struggle on what to get him. This year, though, I thought I would write him a poem to tell him what he means to me.

It’s entitled Who You Are to Me. And it starts off like this…

Father,
You are to me…
